The Dance!

Date: Thursday, October 30^th
- dance regulations (from agenda) are to be outlined on the back of the tickets
- 4 cases of pop per dance, reserve with Mrs. Torigian > Marshall
- contact Devon  (estimated cost: $500) > Noor
- decorations in hallway and around gym (budget: $50)
- costume contest
- food-eating contest
- sell tickets at lunch on the week of the dance
- decide on a schedule for ticket sales
- make a schedule for set-up, clean-up, snack & drink sales, etc.
- BBQ on the first Tuesday of October à Student Council meeting in courtyard
- “Grunt” committee, announcements to rally up students from all grades (especially grade nines) >Marshall

Grade 9 Day 2008

- Good work - lots of successes

- What could be improved? (communication, organization of groups, clean up plan, BBQ)

Current Positions/General Expectations

- Need for another position?  Interview process?

- Expectations and responsibilities.

        - It's a team effort.  Accept responsibilities and follow through.

        - Let us know in advance if you won't be able to be a part o an event.

        - If you cannot commit to this task, be fair to the rest of Student Council and resign your position.

        - Only Student Council members should be signed out or special events.  Any other students helping must have approval before the event -- not after they've already gotten out of class.  See Ms. Thiessen or Mrs. Walton so that we can tell the office who is excused.  You are still responsible for all work missed.  Try to get out during MSIP if possible.

Spirit Days

- Can we plan for at least one/month?

- Special Halloween Costume Day?

Dance Dates Need to be determined soon.

- Social committee is responsible or ensuring police security, gym/DJ bookings, set up/clean up crews, dance responsibilities.

-All of Student Council is expected to be there from set up through clean up.

-All receipts must be submitted to JACK EASTWOOD.

-Only Jack, Marshall, or any staff advisor may sign out the cash box.

Fill a Bus With Food.

Promotion of the food drive at Thanksgiving for Community Care (in support of Outreach committee)
